Coaching Education

The Norwegian Rugby Federation offers comprehensive coaching education programs aligned with World Rugby standards. Our courses provide the knowledge, skills, and certification needed to coach at various levels.

Level 1 Coaching Course

Introduction to rugby coaching covering basic skills, game understanding, and safety. Perfect for new coaches working with youth and beginner players.

Duration: Weekend course
Certification: World Rugby Level 1

Level 2 Coaching Course

Advanced coaching techniques, tactical understanding, and player development. Designed for coaches working with competitive teams and experienced players.

Duration: Multiple sessions
Certification: World Rugby Level 2

Continuing Education

Coaching Opportunities

Rugby clubs across Norway are always looking for dedicated coaches to work with players of all ages and abilities. Coaching opportunities include youth teams, adult clubs, women’s rugby, and national team development pathways.

Most coaching positions are volunteer-based, though some clubs offer compensation for head coaches. The time commitment varies depending on the team level, typically ranging from 2-3 training sessions per week plus weekend matches.
