Referee Education
The Norwegian Rugby Federation provides comprehensive referee training aligned with World Rugby standards. Our courses cover laws of the game, positioning, communication, and match management.
Level 1 Referee Course
Introduction to rugby refereeing covering basic laws, positioning, and match control. Suitable for new referees starting with youth and club matches.
Duration: Weekend course
Certification: World Rugby Level 1
Level 2 Referee Course
Advanced laws interpretation, match management, and fitness requirements. For referees handling competitive adult matches and higher-level competitions.
Duration: Multiple sessions
Certification: World Rugby Level 2
Continuing Development
Regular workshops, video analysis sessions, and fitness testing to help referees improve and progress through the levels.
Mentorship & Assessment
